Abstract

Realism in Drama is an artistic and literary movement that aims to depict life as it truly is, with a focus on the precise interactions of events, characters, and situations, without distortion or exaggeration. Realism seeks to present an honest and realistic portrayal of daily life, often addressing social, political, religious, educational, and other human issues. This article aims to analyze the realistic trends addressed in this play. The outcome of the study shows that the play reflects the reality of life more than imagination. It specifically reflects the corrupt character of some lecturers in Nigerian higher institutions of learning who engage in selling handouts instead of teaching.
