AUTHORS
Authors bear the primary responsibility for ensuring that their submissions represent original, significant, and ethically conducted research.
All manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online system and comply with the author guidelines provided on the UMYU Journal of Microbiology Research website.
Best Practices for Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Submitted works must be original and free from plagiarism. Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources are mandatory. The journal uses plagiarism detection software (Turnitin®) and enforces a maximum similarity index of 20%.
- Authorship: Authorship must accurately reflect individuals who made substantial contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version before submission.
- Data Transparency: Authors should retain and be prepared to share raw data supporting their findings when requested.
- Ethical Research Conduct: Studies involving human or animal subjects must comply with relevant ethical standards and approvals.
- Conflicts of Interest: All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
- Corrections and Retractions: Authors are obliged to promptly notify the editors of any significant errors in their published papers so corrections or retractions can be made.
Prohibition of Dual Submissions
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Duplicate submissions are considered a serious breach of publication ethics and may lead to immediate rejection and sanctions.
AUTHORSHIP AMENDMENT AND CONTRIBUTION STATEMENT
Any request to add or remove an author must be made before editorial decisions are finalized, with a formal written justification sent to the Editor-in-Chief. After acceptance, changes in authorship are generally not permitted.
For multi-authored papers, an Author Contribution Statement may be requested to clarify each contributor’s specific role, promoting transparency and accountability.
PLAGIARISM POLICY
UMYU Journal of Microbiology Research maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All manuscripts are screened using advanced plagiarism detection software prior to review. Manuscripts exceeding the similarity threshold or containing unattributed material will be rejected to preserve the integrity of the journal.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
UMYU Journal of Microbiology Research employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure objectivity and impartiality. Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers. Final decisions on publication rest with the Section Editor or Editor-in-Chief. The peer review process is designed to maintain transparency, fairness, and scientific rigor.
CORRECTIONS, RETRACTIONS, AND ERRATA
If substantial errors or ethical issues are discovered post-publication, UMYU Journal of Microbiology Research will issue corrections, retractions, or errata in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Corrections are accepted before final publication, while retractions are made only through formal written requests and upon editorial review.
